Stormy Skazka

The story behind this shot of Skazka Canyon in Kyrgyzstan is one of the most memorable photography experiences of my whole life. I could genuinely write an essay about it… but the nutshell version goes like this: We arrived at the Canyon very early to beat the crowds, and headed off in different directions to explore. The sky was ominous and growling as I set up my camera to photograph this pinnacle, and as the lightning flickered across the sky, I felt the excitement. When the light briefly struck the pinnacle and the ridgelines, I was in awe… but as it started to rain, realisation hit. I was in a canyon that was about to become wet, slippery mud and the rain had nowhere to go but into the channels below that were quickly becoming saturated. I quickly packed up and started to run. The rain pelted down and as I slip-slided my way up and down the ridgelines, there were moments when I didn’t think I’d make it. In the end, I had to take my shoes off to get better grip in the mud. By the time I made it to the car, the whole canyon was a raging torrent of water. The drive out was absolutely terrifying – we were driving in the river. We did make it out eventually, but it’s an experience I’ll never, ever forget!

Our prints are created using beautiful fine art cotton rag paper. The paper holds rich colours as well as subtle detail and is a perfect pairing for our photographic art. The museum grade paper meets ISO 9706 Paper Ageing Resistance to ensure an archival grade print, suitable for handing down through generations. We recommend liaising with your local framer about how to match your frame, matting and glass to best suit your print, your home, and your décor. All paper prints come rolled in a heavy-duty tube to protect them. The measurements supplied are of the outer dimensions of the paper. Each print contains a white border between 5-10cm, depending on size, for the purposes of presentation and framing.

Float-framed Canvas Prints

Our Canvas prints have beautiful texture and richness and come framed and ready-to-hang in your home or workplace. The canvas is of excellent quality with a fine texture and excellent archival ratings, and together with the pigment inks, have been lab tested to last over 100 years without fading when displayed suitably. Stretcher bars are from environmentally friendly regrowth forest in Australia and New Zealand. We strictly avoid timber from non-regrowth forests and timbers with high tannin and tannic acid in order to preserve the environment and the archival quality of the canvas. Acrylic

A luminous and contemporary presentation of our print behind a layer of acrylic, and with a backing of 3mm Dibond Aluminium Composite Panel and aluminium mounting frame for rigidity and hanging flush against your wall. While our fine art papers and canvases are rated for 100 years+ of use, acrylic is rated for 30 years without change.
