Quiver Tree and Milky Way

After spending an afternoon looking for attractive Quiver Trees that might (hopefully) look good under the Milky Way, we returned to this area (Fish River Canyon, Namibia) at night. I’d picked out this attractive lone tree as a likely candidate, and I was thrilled when the stars (literally) aligned and I was able to lie on my tummy and get the shot with the Milky Way that I’d envisioned. But imagine my bafflement when I clearly saw a bright glow of light behind this Quiver Tree, making a bright silhouette. It was so still and silent… and magical. There was no logical reason for it, but it was clearly there. It was beautiful, and it gave me the tingles! On the walk back to the hotel, I found out that there’s actually a name for this phenomenon: the Zodiacal Light. Google it. It’s pretty special!

Needless to say, I thanked my lucky stars…

The museum grade paper meets ISO 9706 Paper Aging Resistance to ensure an archival grade print, suitable for handing down through generations. We recommend liaising with your local framer about how to match your frame, matting and glass to best suit your print, your home, and your décor. All paper prints come rolled in a heavy-duty tube to protect them. The measurements supplied are of the outer dimensions of the paper. Each print contains a white border between 5-10cm, depending on size, for the purposes of presentation and framing.

Float-framed Canvas Prints

Our Canvas prints have beautiful texture and richness and come framed and ready-to-hang in your home or workplace. The canvas is of excellent quality with a fine texture and excellent archival ratings, and together with the pigment inks, have been lab tested to last over 100 years without fading when displayed suitably. Stretcher bars are from environmentally friendly regrowth forest in Australia and New Zealand. We strictly avoid timber from non-regrowth forests and timbers with high tannin and tannic acid in order to preserve the environment and the archival quality of the canvas. Acrylic

A luminous and contemporary presentation of our print behind a layer of acrylic, and with a backing of 3mm Dibond Aluminium Composite Panel and aluminium mounting frame for rigidity and hanging flush against your wall. While our fine art papers and canvases are rated for 100 years+ of use, acrylic is rated for 30+ years without change.
