The vines at Feathertop Winery

Full Day Workshop: Composition in Landscape Photography & Creative Photography Techniques

Immerse yourself in an intensive and comprehensive day of Landscape Photography sessions.

Sunrise: Join Mieke and Matt for an optional but highly recommended sunrise shoot at the Feathertop Winery. Photographic opportunities abound as you can photograph the iconic Feathertop avenue of Autumn trees (some of which were planted by Mieke and her siblings many years ago!), the beautiful vineyard, and first light on Mount Buffalo (weather permitting). Both Mieke and Matt will be available to provide guidance to help you capture your vision.

Breakfast: Once the morning's best light has passed, we will meet in Bright for an included café breakfast to fuel us for the day ahead.

Morning: Returning to the winery, we will begin the first theoretical workshop on Composition in landscape photography with Mieke. This is one of the most important keys to being a creative and successful photographer, and one of the skills many photographers find most challenging to master! Following the theory component, there will be practical compositional activities making the most of the beautiful Autumn scenery.

Break: After this workshop session, you are free to continue photographing at Feathertop or take a break and recharge, and grab some lunch if you need it. (Snacks will be available during the day but not a full lunch).

Afternoon: Join Mieke for an exploration of the wilder side of photography, learning various techniques you can use to create unexpected and interesting photographs. Mieke will then share her basic post-processing techniques using Photoshop. Again, after this presentation, we'll head outside to create some new work with Mieke on hand to provide support and guidance.

Sunset: Join Mieke and Matt for an optional sunset shoot at the vineyard or local autumn photography spot, location depending on best conditions.

Farewell: All participants are welcome to join us at Mieke and Matt's Alpine Light Gallery and enjoy some Feathertop wine while discussing our special Autumn-themed showcase of photographic prints on display.
