Ice Cold

Edition of 50

The endlessly changing (and absolutely amazing) shoreline of the Lyngenfjord in Spåkenes, Norway. At times, this little rock-pool was clear; at times it was buried under snow, and on this occasion, it had some amazing ice patterns in it! The wind was quite strong, so I took a long exposure to smooth out the water in the fjord. It was absolutely freezing, but when the landscape is this beautiful, you don’t really notice the cold so much!

Limited Edition
Prints with the Limited Edition designation are photographs that are strictly limited as to how many will ever be produced. Each print is labelled individually by their number.
Limited Edition prints come with a small booklet containing the story of the print and information about the artist, as well as a Statement of Authenticity for your print.
All Limited Edition prints on fine art paper are hand-signed, numbered, and titled by the artist. Signatures on other mediums such as aluminium and canvas may be on the back or printed, as appropriate.

Unless arranged otherwise, Limited Edition prints are printed on 24×34 inch museum-grade cotton rag paper using archival quality inks. However, the dimensions may change depending on the shape of the printed image. As part of your purchase, you may select from our various finishes and sizes, but your print will take its place within the existing edition.

Alpine Light Gallery has a strict policy of only ever producing one single Edition run of each image. There is an industry practice whereby other Editions are created with subtle changes to sell more of the same image, under the guise of it still being a Limited Edition. We prefer an authentic approach where the collector knows exactly how many prints of the image will exist in total. Outside of the numbered Edition we reserve the right to display the artwork digitally, and to create up to two artist proofs which may be used for exhibition. Beyond this, no more copies will ever be produced. If an additional artist proof is created beyond the two allocated, one of the existing artist proofs will be destroyed first. Artist proofs are labelled as artist proofs and not numbered. These steps are all taken to preserve the authenticity and uniqueness of your print.

Fine Art Papers
Our prints are created using beautiful fine art cotton rag paper. The paper holds rich colours as well as subtle detail and is a perfect pairing for our photographic art. The museum grade paper meets ISO 9706 Paper Ageing Resistance to ensure an archival grade print, suitable for handing down through generations. We recommend liaising with your local framer about how to match your frame, matting and glass to best suit your print, your home, and your décor. All paper prints come rolled in a heavy-duty tube to protect them. The measurements supplied are of the outer dimensions of the paper. Each print contains a white border between 5-10cm, depending on size, for the purposes of presentation and framing.

Float-framed Canvas Prints
Our Canvas prints have beautiful texture and richness and come framed and ready-to-hang in your home or workplace. The canvas is of excellent quality with a fine texture and excellent archival ratings, and together with the pigment inks, have been lab tested to last over 100 years without fading when displayed suitably. Stretcher bars are from environmentally friendly regrowth forest in Australia and New Zealand. We strictly avoid timber from non-regrowth forests and timbers with high tannin and tannic acid in order to preserve the environment and the archival quality of the canvas. Float-frames come in several finishes. You can view these finishes on our Print Information page. Once you order the Float-framed canvas of your choice, we will be in contact directly to confirm your choice of frames.

Aluminium
Aluminium prints are luminous, contemporary and robust. Chromaluxe aluminium panels are made with recycled material and are 100% recyclable. Archival inks are infused into a durable and scratch-resistant surface via a heat press process. Aluminium prints can be cleaned with a glass cleaner, are light-weight and long-lasting. This makes them perfect for those wanting a modern finish for their home, or for art pieces that will be in more challenging environments such as a busy kitchen, or bathroom.
